Cartes Blanches: Jone San Martin | W. FORSYTHE: "Nowhere and Everywhere at the Same Time No. 4"
San Sebastian 2016 gave dancer and choreographer Jone San Martin carte blanche to enrich the European Capital of Culture programme, and in this last artistic proposal she designed, the San Sebastian native presents two installations from both William Forsythe and Ryoji Ikeda. Situated in adjoining rooms, both focus on the body's consciousness in the space.
One of the most important and influential choreographers of our time, Forsythe, presents Nowhere and Everywhere at the Same Time No. 4, a space that is at first glance impenetrable, with an array of more than 400 pendulums suspending from the ceiling. Visitors are free to attempt a navigation this environment, but are requested to avoid coming in contact with any of the swinging pendulums. If they can.
Forsythe's work invites the public to concentrate on their own body's movement in order to move through this choreography installation.
The development and international exhibition of Choreographic Objects by William Forsythe is made possible with the generous support of Susanne Klatten
