Learning to be digital artisans

A laboratory putting technology at the service of citizens, that’s Hirikilabs. Along the lines of the Do- It-Yourself philosophy, the purpose of the initiative,  designed jointly with Tabakalera, International Centre for Contemporary Culture, is to experiment with state-of-the-art tools and new technologies while conveying the knowledge acquired in workshops and courses. In addition to the laboratory work groups, the project will present the Hirikikas and  Hirikilabs plaza lines. The first addresses communications and networks, encouraging the use of technological tools including 3D printing or robotics and  their creative application. At the workshops, participants and guests will share knowledge on how to make a skateboard or compost box, for example. Finally, the project includes the Hirikilabs plaza, a meeting place to present projects and put them into practice in do-it-yourself mode. An open door to the  maker movement.
